Greg DeSanto is in his 4th decade as a professional circus clown.

He began his professional career by attending the 1985 class of Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Clown College, and then found himself a welcoming home for the next ten years on the Ringling clown alley.

He distinguished himself as a producing clown, creating, directing and staging the production clown numbers for the circus.

He was able to give back to new generations of aspiring clowns as a member of the Clown College faculty for 10 years.

After leaving the circus road for further adventures, he found himself back at Feld Entertainment as the Director of Clowning for 5 new productions of the "Greatest Show on Earth".

Greg's journey of clowning has found him featured on major circus's here in the United States and abroad, international clown festivals, film & televison projects, theatrical productions and teaching the art of the clown to all ages from youth to master classes at major universities.

Making his home in Baraboo, Wisconsin, in 2009, Greg was named Executive Director of the International Cown Hall of Fame and Research Center and moved the largest collection of clown artifacts and history to Baraboo, WI.

Overseeing this massive collection of props, wardrobe, films, scrapbooks, photo's, and personal effects, the museum has created a research center and depository of the centuries old history of the clown unlike any other in the world.

During the course of his career Greg has been honored with the Funny Face Award from the Clown Arts Council for his creative leadership in the craft of clowning, the Paul Jung Award for best clown duo, and was inducted in the EHS Hall of Fame for his contributions to the Arts and Humanities, the Golden Smile Award from Clown College Alumni and was recently inducted in 2026 into the International Clown Hall of Fame by the Board of Directors and his peers.

The greatest legacy for Greg will always be the distinction as the most pied clown in Ringling history and the laughter of children of all ages.
