Jerry Bangs Inducted Into Clown Hall of Fame

The ICHOF inductee selection for 2026 was the “most famous clown you’ve never heard of” - Jerry Bangs.

Long overlooked for his creativity, inventiveness, and very unique gag creations, Jerry finally recieved his due! Working as a “producer of clown ideas, gags & props”, Jerry Bangs helped shape American Circus clowning from 1930 to almost 1974. A fascinating tale of discovery lead by Brian Hollifield, the life story of Jerry Bangs will forever be entered info the history of the American Circus and celebrated by new generations of clown fans & historians. All the surviving Jerry Bangs clown props, designs, correspondence have been donated to the permanent archives of the International Clown Hall of Fame through the generosity of the Evansville Shrine organization and their Hadi Funsters. These amazing props will be the core of a major presentation in 2027.
